Worst-dressed Celebrities of 2006

haha, what a find, not exactly surprised but I could laugh at this, according to The Standard ‘ Britney Spears and Paris Hilton have been named the worst-dressed celebrities of 2006, according to an annual list from US fashion critic “Mr Blackwell.” ‘.

haha, its time that they deserve this sort of recognition… but… neways, here’s the highlights of the article:
Britney and Paris were named as “two peas in an over-exposed pod! Style-free and fashion deprived.”

Party-loving teen idol Lindsay Lohan was next, with Blackwell saying her dress sense had gone from “adorable to deplorable.”

Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul, Sharon Stone, Tori Spelling, Sandra Oh and Meryl Streep rounded out the list.

Blackwell, however, praised Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce and Katie Holmes for their sense of style.

While I was walking around STC on Sunday, I noticed a lot of Britney look a likes (well… not as SCANDELIST) I thought: eww, don’t they read the news? darn people.

A Question about Relationships…

It is easy to find someone worth your liking,

It is also easy to find someone who likes you,

But it is so hard to find that same person to like you at the same time, in order to start a relationship

True or not?

In my experiences, so true so very true, it happened once… a long time, all I could ask is “why couldn’t he have liked me earlier? I liked him for 4 years,… 4 years!! but no, he had to choose the time after those painful four years… why?

It is so hard to hang on, I tried, but… there is only so much time and only for  so long for it to take a likingless to turn and go…

my advice: if you like someone, take all the opportunity you could to see if it is meant for you and the person.

Boots

Boots

Have you’ve noticed how people nowadays wear boots: when its warm, when its cold, when it snowing, when its raining, even when its even sunny. But as I talk, people also wear them in Spring, Fall, and Summer. I just find this TOTALLY ridiculous!

To me, this is just some stupid fashion trend which everyone is falling into, like those disco bellbottoms in the sixties, I could just imagine people 20 or even 40 years from now saying: Look at those ridiculous people of the 2000s, all of them had boots. It is such an outrage how people have no brains! I do not see why this fashion trend is so popular, especially in places like Tokyo, Hong Kong, Korea, California, and other warm places where boots are not a necessity for “la winter life”. However, I do not disagree that they do look good (some of them) but as people are matching them outrageously, that is when I feel my temper rising. People would wear dress pants (BLACK dress pants) with a formal classy pretty trendy top, in my opinion, it would definitely fit so well with heels or some pretty trendy chic looking shoes, however, those no brain people would them roll up the dress pants and stuff a pair of casual, WHITE (or beige or whatever colour boots they have) The boots themselves look good with… casual clothing.

My advice to those people: if you do not know HOW to mix and match clothing, don’t bother.

This gives me a dilemma: Should I wear boots? if people see me with boots, would they think of me equally as inimaginative as those people without a mind?

If I don’t wear boots… it means this trend is affecting me, causing me to change my ways.

Or should I just don’t care and just let myself do as I please and ignore what everyone things?

sigh~ so darn confusing!

Weight Loss or Gain?

In response to Parthi’s weight gain plan anybody :

I just find it problematic these days how people care so so much about their outer appearance, as Parthi said… when you are thin, or not as “average” looking, people call you a midget (or anything close to that), but if you are fat, or a bit bigger than some others, people call you a “fatty” or whatever nasty.

My point is that people are so alienated by people who are different from them, and when they are, the “weird” “adnormal” “different” people are laughed at, making it difficult for them to be different,  thus, in the end, they change themselves to “suit” the “others” . The rest in order to make themselves get a sense of belonging would try their hardest to exclude others.

On second thought, as I mentioned earlier, those different people care too much about themselves, giving a chance for others to make fun of them. All of those ads where you are able to find EVERYWHERE in every magazine, newspaper, TV Channel, internet, etc. 1. stupid weight loss ads, if one looked at them long enough, it would be enough for them to start wanting to look like those ‘caked’ up celebrities. And ofcourse, I cannot even get started on those 2. plastic surgery ads, I just find them so disgusting! As Cindy Sherman had made her point: are we the sum of the pictures we consume? I hate how they are so fake, one thing I learned in New Media Studies last year was that all those ads, with the perfect skin, the perfect complexion, and the perfect facial features, perfect body shape, they had if not more 80% of the original pictures had been photoshopped.

anyways, I was totally astonished when my prof showed me this link to which he called: being pretty as photoshop: http://homepage.mac.com/gapodaca/digital/digital.html (btw, you would have to click on the pictures on the right, than scroll over them to see the effects!) I mean, its such an outrage! But I gotta admit, this guy, Greg Apodaca’s is good! :)

Come on people, you were born an original, don’t die as a copy.

Second Day Using WordPress

So yesterday, I had created this blog, today, I find that there is something wrong with the name, I really REALLY want to change it from stephng.wordpress.com -> stephyng.wordpress.com .
I am still a newbie at WordPress, but the stuff here is amazing!! :)
As I tried to sign in, (my internet connection btw, is driving me CRAZY @.@) I felt a type of energy waiting for me to unleash my “writing powers” from within, but after the frustration, I had spent too much brain power getting mad and at last, there goes all of my thoughts! >.

Hello world!

“Welcome to WordPress.com. This is your first post. Edit or delete it and start blogging!”

A Few simply words, yet I get a refreshing feeling as this is a new beginning. It is actually extremely hard for me to pinpoint what exactly that has caused me to decide to create a new blog…

Its weird… as I write in this new one, I can not help but sense that I am betraying my blog the one where I created in Xanga, around 2 years ago. I just get a nasty feeling, don’t know why. Opposite, I actually feel like this is a new start, a new beginning, I can not help but get a surreal feeling similar to the one I had gotten 2 years back, when I first created my other blog/journal.
For those who either had known me, just met me, or will…  I have just started an introduction for myself:

Stephanie Ng is a student of the University of Toronto currently majoring in International Studies and New Media Studies. She had studied piano playing for 12 years and is currently in the 10th grade.  She was born and grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada but longs for her eventual return to Hong Kong.

During her spare time, she enjoys going on facebook, her xanga; where she is able to write about her thoughts and feelings, and hanging out with friends in malls and karaoke places.

Currently Stephanie is the Vice president of Internal Affairs for Hong Kong Karaoke (HKK), a club dedicated to helping members sing and to gain confidence in their singing. General Exective of External Affairs for Novelty, which is a Chinese organization dedicated to helping members meet people in their campus and to meet new friends. She is also part of the Committee in the Scarborough Chinese Christian Fellowship (SCCF) organization, where they strive to help create a Christian atmosphere and to help people understand and become closer Christianity.
